Spingold sú letné otvorené majstrovstvá USA. O súťaž je enormný záujem medzi všetkými svetovými hráčmi. Hrá sa KO systémom, ak sa do súťaže prihlási viac ako 64 družstiev, tak si nadbytočné družstvá predohrajú kvalifikáciu. Potom hrajú každý deň 60 rozdaní (4x15, lebo USA, inde by hrali 4x16) a tak sa denno denne počet znižuje na polovicu, finalisti teda odohrajú 300 rozdaní. To je celkom slušná pálka a tak aj u profíkov sa na záver súťaže vyskytnú rôzne podivuhodnosti :).
Čo bolo tohto roku zaujímavé a očakávané? Čakal sa napríklad útok mladých amerických a aj európskych pušiek. Puškám šla karta tak zhruba do štvrťfinále, napríklad Poliaci poslali domov americkú modlu Nickell, ale potom sa aj oni vybrali na recepciu a požiadali o účet.

Opak však bol pravdou, podľa mojej mienky najlepšiemu svetovému páru Bochci-Madala sa vyslovene nedarilo a Lavazza napokon zápas prehralo o vyše o 100 impov, čo je ekvivalentné debaklu.
Došlo na finále. Bolo to zaujímavé, nakoľko družstvo Cayne na BBO pravidelne trénuje a nedá sa povedať, že by bolo herne vždy presvedčivé.
