 Dear Peter,

  I have been asked to send you the following message from Geert Magerman:

 After a workshop with students in Lodz (Poland) at the 4th World University Bridge Championships and the congress at the 1st Mind Sport Games in Beijing, we have decided launch a new team competition for university Bridge which will start (normally) in March 2009. It will be a team competition between university teams in different knock-out rounds, with semi-finals and finals. The opposing teams will be chosen by computer draw round by round, and the captains of both teams will have 1 month (=1 round) to schedule their match in common agreement on BBO. They may use the private club "University Room" on BBO to play their round.

Only students between 18 and 28 can play in the university bridge teams. We appeal to the university spirit, a strong value of FISU (International University Sports Federation), to make it a fair competition.

  The number of teams that can be entered for this competition is unlimited.

 This new competition enables students to meet each other and connect between the international events. We strongly hope that your Federation will promote this new competition among students and offer the students the chance of playing.

Študenti, ktorí máte záujem vytvoriť družstvo, preštudujte si mejl, ktorý prišiel na SBZ, pošlite prihlášku družstva na moju adresu a ja ich prepošlem hromadne za SR Anne a Geertovi. Termín uzávierky Vám posuniem na pondelok, 26.1.2009, lebo koncom mesiaca budem v zahraničí. Ak by tento termín niektoré družstvo nestíhalo, nech mi dá včas vedieť a dohodnem sa s kapitánom na náhradnom riešení preposlania prihlášky (prihlášku možno poslať aj priamo na uvedené adresy).
